The Academy is training for Alabama and Mississippi
families of children with disabilities ages birth through 21
years of age. Community professionals and educators are
also welcome to attend. The Academy will provide
information to help parents understand educational law,
policy, and practice to ensure better educational
outcomes for their school-age children with disabilities or
special healthcare needs. Parents will develop an
understanding of Alabama and Mississippi Special
Education Systems, IDEA, and advocacy skills to
participate effectively in the educational process of their
child.
