The need for diabetes care does not end when your child walks into the school. What information do parents need to give school staff and administration when their child is diagnosed? Who trains school staff to recognize and respond appropriately to the highs and lows of diabetes? How do we manage PE, field trips and even lockdowns when my child is in school? Who will manage their diabetes care if there is no school nurse?
